Pirk Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pirk (“Pirk,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website at https://pirkparking.com and related services (together, the “Services”). Pirk is a parking marketplace: hosts can list parking spaces, and drivers can search for, book and pay for parking.

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

1. Information you provide

Depending on how you use Pirk, you may provide:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, phone number, password (for email sign-in), date of birth where requested, and your account preferences.
• Listing information (hosts), such as the space’s address and any unit or apartment number, parking type, number of spaces, vehicle sizes, amenities, photos, availability, rates, description and access instructions.
• Booking information (drivers), such as the space, dates and times you select and details of your reservations.
• Communications, such as messages you send us through our contact form or by email, and related correspondence.

2. Information from sign-in providers

If you choose to sign in with a third-party provider such as Facebook or Google, we receive information from that provider as permitted by your settings with the provider and the permissions you approve. This is typically limited to basic profile information such as your name, email address and profile picture, and an identifier for your account with that provider. We use this information to create and authenticate your Pirk account. We do not receive your password for that provider, and we do not post to your social media accounts.

3. Payment information

Payments on Pirk may be processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. When you pay, your payment-card details are entered with and handled by the payment processor. Pirk does not store full payment-card numbers. We may receive limited payment information from the processor, such as the payment amount, status, date, and transaction or refund identifiers, to record your booking and provide support. The payment processor’s use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy.

4. Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

• Device and browser information, such as browser type, operating system and device type.
• Log and usage information, such as IP address, pages visited, actions taken and the dates and times of requests.
• Location information, such as locations you search for and, if you allow it in your browser, your device’s approximate or precise location to show parking nearby. You can turn off location access in your browser or device settings.
• Cookies and similar technologies, such as cookies and browser storage used to keep you signed in, remember your in-progress actions and keep the Services secure. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features, such as staying signed in, may not work without them.

5. How we use information

We may use information we collect to:

• create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
• operate the marketplace, including displaying listings, search results and approximate locations;
• process bookings and payments, and send booking details such as the space’s address and access instructions after a booking is confirmed;
• provide customer support and respond to your requests;
• detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of our terms;
• send service-related communications, such as confirmations, account notices and updates to our policies;
• maintain, troubleshoot and improve the Services; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

6. How we share information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers. We use service providers to help run Pirk, such as hosting, database and authentication, mapping and address lookup, email delivery and payment processing. They may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services to us.
• Payment processors, such as Stripe, to process payments and refunds.
• Between hosts and drivers, as needed to complete a booking. Before a booking is confirmed, drivers see only a listing’s approximate location. After a booking is confirmed, the driver can see the space’s exact address, any unit or apartment number and the host’s access instructions, and the host may see information about the booking.
• Legal requirements. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request.
• Safety, fraud and security. To protect the rights, property and safety of Pirk, our users and others, including to prevent fraud and abuse.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this policy or a successor policy.
• With your consent or at your direction.

7. Facebook and Meta login

If you sign in to Pirk with Facebook, Meta shares with us the information described in Section 2 that you authorize, such as your name, email address and profile picture. We use it only to create, identify and secure your Pirk account and to communicate with you about the Services.

You can remove Pirk’s access at any time in your Facebook settings under Apps and Websites. Doing so stops Pirk from receiving new information from Facebook, but it does not by itself delete information Pirk already holds. You can request deletion of your Pirk account and associated personal data at any time by following the steps on our User Data Deletion Instructions page.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the Services and for the purposes described in this policy. We may retain certain information after an account is closed or a deletion request is completed where reasonably necessary for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution or transaction-record purposes, and then delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.

9. Your choices and rights

• Account information. You can review and update certain account and listing information in your account.
• Deletion. You can request deletion of your Pirk account and associated personal data as described on our data deletion page.
• Access and correction. You can ask for a copy of, or corrections to, personal information we hold about you by contacting us.
• Communications. You can opt out of promotional messages, if we send any, using the instructions in those messages. We may still send service-related messages.
• Location and cookies. You can manage location access and cookies in your browser or device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and relying on established providers for authentication and payment processing. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children’s privacy

Pirk is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
